Executive Pitch Deck for Design Systems

Prerequisites

• Completed ROI Calculator with actual numbers (not placeholders)
• Knowledge of specific pain points leadership has expressed
• Clear understanding of what you're asking for (budget, headcount, approval)

When NOT to use this

• If leadership is already bought in — don't re-sell what's already sold
• If you don't have any data — presenting slides without numbers destroys credibility
• If the audience is designers or engineers — this deck speaks business language, not technical
• If you're in a 1:1 meeting — this format is for group presentations, not conversations

Consider instead

• Leadership wants ongoing updates, not initial pitch: Use the Progress Dashboard Spec for regular reporting
• You need to convince peer engineers, not executives: Lead with technical benefits: type safety, accessibility, velocity metrics
• You need written documentation, not a presentation: Adapt the slide content into a one-page brief using the ROI Calculator summary
